The world is a much better place with a clean room.
Charlie adds, "And with a belt."

One of the main characters in the book I'm reading doesn't complain about anything, ever. I'm not sure how long this will last throughout the book, or if it'll be annoying, but the comment instantly made me think of the main character from Douglas Hill's "Blade of the Poisoner" who, from what I can remember, complained about everything, all the time! I've been wanting to reread that book for awhile now and now it's all I can think about. I will steal Sabrina's copy. Shhhhh.

Also recently remembered Daniel Hayes' "The Trouble With Lemons". I couldn't remember the name or author though, so amazoned "lemon". Really good search! I want to reread this one now too. Wonder if I'll find it as funny as I did when I was younger? Hope so!

And Mega Bite is seriously the best name ever for a restaurant.

+2 )

I like these better by themselves than as a group.

Have you guys seen Soom Monzo?! I think I've managed to convince myself that I don't need him, haha! I tried to come up with some way to tie him with another doll but... he looks so angry, nothing worked. Which is good, I guess, because he is super expensive. ><

I'm still trying to go through the pics I took last May and sort out the good ones/my favourites. >< These ones were my main goal, group shot of the brothers. Yes, yes, there isn't much of a family resemblance (except Ollie and Isaac, who'd better look similiar! :P) but pretend there is!

Last post of 2009!

There's snow on the ground, which is fabulous. It finally feels like winter! I was starting to get upset, what with Arizona getting a snow storm and us getting nothing. But all is well now. As long as the snow continues...

Got up early today to go to the Mandarin for lunch, which is actually really good. I have absolutely no idea why I was unimpressed the first time years and years ago. Then Chapters, which is really the best place to spend any day, and 100% amazing when they have the book I've been dying for recently. Guilty pleasure: Kagetora. I've had volumes 1 and 3 for what seems like forever, but has really only been 2 weeks at the most, and haven't found volume 2 at Chapters any time I've gone, which was only the once after reading 1 when I went back and they only had 3 and I was HEARTBROKEN. They had vol 2 in stock today. I was happy.

(The lead guy is a ninja. And he's sweet and happy. And he has a nice (drawn) smile. And he blushes. A lot. :D And the girl has faults, and she's not goody-goody, and she isn't an annoying girl lead. Because, I won't pretend otherwise, I read it for the guy and it wouldn't be enjoyable if he was falling for a spoiled princess who didn't deserve him.) So yes. No longer heartbroken because volume 2 is now in my possession.

We got Olympic mascot keychains! So we can enjoy the Olympic games at a child's level... :P I also got a red Canada Olympic games hoodie which I will wear every Saturday this tax season. Yay for comfy hoodies! And yay for winter Olympics in Canada!

I'm completely and utterly in a doll mood, which has not happened in a very long time and makes it hard to sleep at night. Very recently fallen in love with Arien and Mabel, who remind me of my Emma (DIM Flora) and would be her sisters. (Fact: none of my girl dolls have a sister (who belongs to me and not Sabrina) but almost everyone has a brother. I don't know why! Other than that I always fall in love with the boy molds. Falling in love with Arien and Mabel was such a shock.) And then even more recently fallen in love with Pan. Tyra would be proud; he can model tall. He will be nobody's brother. At least not yet.

I think the latte I had earlier has officially kicked in.

I don't know how much longer I can live in this apartment. Seriously. Why the hell can I hear every time the upstairs neighbours move? *rage* And they never shut up. And I'm too much of a coward to go up and tell them I can hear their tv or ask politely when the hell they're going to be finished building whatever the hell they're building, in a rented apartment, for the last year. Because I can deal with hearing their kids running around (stomping, not so much) but not with the constant construction sounds or dropping of things. *rage rage rage*

Are there really headphones you can buy that block out noise? Like what they wear at construction sites? And where can these be bought? Need these badly! I am losing my sanity and calm. I've given up hope they'll move.

Booooored!

Sitting in the living room. I've been trying to read but my mind wants to go to sleep. Woke up this morning at eight, told myself it was beyond ridiculous that I should be awake at eight, so I fell back asleep and didn't wake again til twelve. That's pretty much twelve straight hours of sleep, which is way more than I normally get. I think I'm getting a cold, though, and it was a long week. But being sleepy after twelve hours of sleep just seems wrong.

You know how a room looks completely different through the reflection of a window or, let's say, a TV screen? The living room looks huge in the reflection of the TV, and the hall to the bathroom looks so wide! I like being able to see the bookshelf in it; it looks cozy.

My dad called up to see what I was doing on Monday. A couple seconds into the conversation he tells me to hold on, and I can hear him in the background talking to my mom. He comes back and says they got the new car today (they got a new car that has a CD player in it! totally cool and totally want to go on a road trip!) and Mom was trying to get in but couldn't get it unlocked. >< We talk a little bit longer then he says, all rushed, that she set off the alarm and he'll call me back. Completely pointless story but I thought it was cute. :)

Of course he hasn't called me back yet, which I don't think is cute. Maybe he knows I'll talk his ear off if he does?

Our TV grew! A friend gave us her old 27" and dropped it off today. The size is going to take a bit of getting used to; the old one was 19" and now I can't see the lamb on the book shelf behind it. ;) (But don't worry, Sabrina! The extra Namu hand hasn't lost its home!) I think I'll have to watch a movie tonight.

Went to the grocery store and bought a vanilla cake. The newspaper I'd set out for the cantaloupe was an A&P flyer and the page it was opened to was the cake page... craving cake like crazy. Bought other stuff too so I can be a hermit this weekend without being constantly hungry. Like marshmallows and coke. :)

Someone posted a bunch of old pictures from my mom's side of the family, and I was looking through them last night. Got to see my mom and her sister when they were little, as well as my grandparents who both died before I was even born. I wish there were more. I wish there were pictures of my dad when he was young and with his family, and that we even knew anything about his side.

Looking at old pictures makes me so nostalgic and a little sad. Back then pictures were taken for specific reasons, and the quality wasn't that great but it still gives a glimpse into what things were like. But that's what makes them so cool and kind of eerie, though it's terrifying to see people debating over a face in a photograph no one can identify, like that person existed once but no one knows who it was.

As an aside, I love how German my grandparents looked. :)
